Hope for the Future

According to the CDC, 1 in 4 woman will experience violence by their intimate partner and 1 in 3 woman will experience some form of sexual violence during their lifetime. The numbers are even higher among black, brown, and indigenous woman of color. These are our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, aunties, cousins, and friends. This was my mother. This was my grandmother. This was my auntie. This was my sisters. This was my cousin. this was my friend. So many woman live "normal" public lives, while living in "hell", in their private lives. Domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and other intimate partner violence unfortunately occurs daily. Many woman walk around enduring this pain because of fear, shame, and feelings of hopelessness. This is why the work provided by The Hive is so close to my heart. The Hive is on a mission to provide unwavering support and compassion to the most impacted, yet most underserved survivors in SC. The Hive Community Circle is a survivor-led, survivor-driven support organization helping women and girls in South Carolina overcome the trauma of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking.
