“The hardest decision I have ever made was to walk away from a domestic violence situation with my four children, without knowing what we would wear, what we would eat, or where we would sleep. I reached out for help from several places; however, they could not support me with my family's needs. When I got down to my last ounce of faith, I stumbled across The Hive Community Circle. The first thing the advocate told me was how brave I was, and that gave me hope. I felt seen. She helped us with securing food and clothing for the entire family. She went above and beyond to fulfill our needs. That small sense of someone caring motivated me not to give up. She also helped us apply for housing assistance so the children and I would be safe. I will forever be grateful to The Hive for advocating for people who believe they are alone in this.“
